Oh, the weekend, yes.
Very eventful, I must say. Daniel and I went to Butte for the second half of our CYC planning session.
Objectives for the next 24 hours: Decide on a shirt design and choreograph a dance to perform as a group in front of 600 people during the opening and closing ceremonies.
We arrived a couple of hours late, but it was okay, the excitement of the people already there when they saw us made up for it. (especially the girls reactions)
I had been having a shitty day until that moment. There's something about a group of kids that you haven't seen in a coon's age (was that racist?) that perks a person right up. I hadn't seen most of them for almost 5 months.
We reintroduced ourselves, all the while answering completely random questions thrown out by the crowd, trying to make up halfway humorous answers, but not really succeeding.
Everyone jumps into gym shorts or pajama pants and whatnot, then farts around for the rest of the night. Saturday doesn't end until Sunday at 2 AM, if that makes sense. We all got around 5 hours of sleep. Nice.
Lack of sleep is obsolete at a function of this nature, I have found. It's when you're driving home that it catches up with you.
-Sunday-
Wake up at 7:30 to an African bongo drum. Eat continental-ish breakfast at 8. Start on dance at 9:30.
I had the best group and the best dance partner. Daniel and I were in the same group, but we weren't dance partners. And, I must say, we definitely had the most creative idea for our chunk of the dance, at least until that point. Who thinks of ballroom-style dancing to a christian rock song? I'll tell you who: we do. (I think i sounded arrogant right there) Credit can't be given to any one person or group, however. The way we molded the three groups' parts together was a group accomplishment.
I can't wait until CYC. I know (I hope) it will be the best one of my high school years. I won't let anything ruin it.
Oh yeah, i found out a girl had the same birthday as me.
cool eh?
